There are very few good artists who are willing to do golf course paintings in oil. Paul has become a master. The luminosity of MacWilliams' grass is amazing. This shows a mastery of light that comes from years of experience. Paul paints his oils with watercolorists brightness and economy and a oil painter's powerful brush, all on the same painting. He blends many techniques in multiple layers to come up with a depth of field that is luminous and lovely. His color contrasts make the painting jump out at you. His details show every blade of grass and almost every leaf. You can almost walk the fairway.
