Commission Two
Commission Two is a commission observation page to watch the progress of a work of art.
This commission is not so much a commission as it is a fulfillment of a need. Without a doubt, the most beautiful, interesting and most painted area of the city of Philadelphia is the Fairmount Park Area containing the Art Museum, Boat House Row, the falls of the Schuylkill River and the newly renovated Waterworks.
Boat House Row, the Waterworks, and Art Museum combination have been done ad infinitum. I have found a perch on the rocks over-looking the waterworks with a view of the falls, Boat House Row, the fountain near the azalea garden, the gazebo on the river, and Lemonhill all seen from the art Museum gazebo. It's a birds-eye view that even includes the path and walk bridges down the cliffs (great compositional devises if I choose to use them). I find it difficult to believe that anyone hasn't chosen this unique view before. The available artwork for these subjects is fairly easy to do and has been done over and over and over again. This view will not be easy, but will be challenging and a lot of fun. I think people will enjoy this different perspective.
